Terms of Service
Effective 2026-06-09. Last updated 2026-06-09.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and HomeStudyPath when you create an account or use the app. Read them carefully. By creating an account you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't create an account.
Who we are
HomeStudyPath is operated by Campsite Prep LLC, doing business as HomeStudyPath, a limited liability company based in Arizona, United States. In these Terms, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Campsite Prep LLC. "You" and "your" refer to the individual who has created or is using an account.
Eligibility
To create a HomeStudyPath account you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be the parent or legal guardian of any minor children whose information you add to your family account.
- Have the authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and (where you add a co-parent) any other adult sharing your account.
Children under 13 do not create their own HomeStudyPath accounts. The kid-portal login is created by the parent, on the child's behalf, as part of the parent's account. See the Children's data section of our Privacy Policy.
What HomeStudyPath does
HomeStudyPath is a learning-management app for K-12 homeschool families. We provide tools for lesson planning, curriculum building, grade tracking, reading logs, portfolio storage, field-trip records, chore management, kid-portal access, and education-expense & reimbursement tracking.
We don't provide curriculum content ourselves. The library is a community-sourced catalog of links to third-party resources. We don't grade your child's work; we give you tools to record grades yourself. We are not a school, a curriculum provider, or a registered education institution.
Your account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential and choosing a strong one (we require at least 8 characters; longer is better).
- All activity that happens under your account, including activity by any co-parent you invite.
- The accuracy of the information you enter (your name, your children's grade levels, your billing address, etc.).
- Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access (email support@homestudypath.com).
You may invite one additional co-parent to share your family account. The co-parent has full edit access to family data. The account owner (the first parent who created the family) controls billing and can remove co-parent access at any time.
Free trial
Every new family account starts with a 30-day free trial. We do not require a credit card to start the trial. During the trial you have full access to every feature.
At the end of the 30-day trial:
- If you've started a paid subscription, the trial ends and billing begins on the next day.
- If you haven't subscribed, your account moves to read-only mode for 90 days. You can sign in, view, and export everything; you can't add or change records. After the 90-day window, your family's records are permanently deleted unless you've subscribed.
Subscription and billing
HomeStudyPath is offered on an annual subscription, billed once per year, with per-student pricing and a flat family-plan rate for larger families. The current rates are always those shown on the Pricing page, which is the authoritative price list. Adding or removing a student mid-year prorates the charge.
One quick note on the family-plan rate: it's built for a single household. If you're running a microschool, co-op, learning pod, or anything that brings together kids from more than one family, we'd genuinely love to help — just reach out to us first and we'll get you set up on the right plan. The family-plan price doesn't automatically extend to multiple households without that prior arrangement.
Billing is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. By starting a paid subscription you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis for the price of your plan plus any applicable taxes. Subscription terms auto-renew unless you cancel. We email every family a reminder about three weeks before each annual renewal, stating the upcoming charge and how to cancel. If the price of your plan increases, we will additionally notify you by email at least 30 days before the renewal at which the new price takes effect.
You can change your plan, change the number of students, or cancel from Settings → Billing inside the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you will not be charged again. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel a paid subscription, your account moves to a 90-day read-only window starting at the end of your current billing period, then permanent deletion. You can re-subscribe during the 90-day window to restore full access.
If a payment fails (e.g. expired card), we will email you and attempt re-billing per Stripe's standard retry schedule. If payment cannot be collected after several attempts, your account moves into read-only mode until billing is resolved or the 90-day window closes.
Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Use HomeStudyPath in violation of any applicable law, including child-privacy laws.
- Share your sign-in credentials with anyone outside your family.
- Upload content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or that contains another person's identifying information without their consent.
- Use the public submission tools (library submissions, support messages, contact form) to send spam, malware, or harassment.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or programmatically extract data from the app outside of the documented export feature.
- Resell HomeStudyPath, sub-license the app, or use it on behalf of a school, co-op, or other organisation without first contacting us (additional terms may apply for institutional use).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on the severity.
Your content
The lessons, grades, observations, portfolio files, and other records you enter remain your content. We claim no ownership over your family's data. We do, however, need a limited license to store, process, and display that content as part of providing the service to you — for example, rendering your portfolio uploads back to you, syncing your lessons to an iCalendar feed you subscribe to, or including your data in the export file when you ask for it.
The HomeStudyPath app, brand, layout, code, and curriculum templates we ship are our intellectual property. Don't copy them or use them in a competing product.
Copyright complaints
The community library is a catalog of links (and an archive of past reviews) submitted by parents. If you believe material in the library (or anywhere else in the app) infringes your copyright, report it with the in-app flag on the resource, or email support@homestudypath.com with "copyright" in the subject line, identifying the material and the work you believe is infringed. We review every report and remove infringing material.
Termination
You may close your family account at any time from Settings → Billing → Close family account. Closure triggers immediate permanent deletion of your family's records (see the Retention section of our Privacy Policy for details).
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay an outstanding subscription, or if continuing your account would expose us to legal liability. We will normally give notice and a reasonable opportunity to fix the issue; emergencies (e.g. ongoing abuse) may justify immediate action.
Disclaimers
HomeStudyPath is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific feature will continue to be available.
HomeStudyPath is a record-keeping tool. We do not provide legal advice about your state's homeschool compliance requirements. The state-laws information shown in the app is informational only; you are responsible for confirming your own state's current rules with the relevant authority before relying on them. The education-expense tracker is a record-keeping aid only; we don't submit, review, or guarantee approval of your expenses by any reimbursement, stipend, or scholarship program (including Arizona ESA / ClassWallet).
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HomeStudyPath's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost data, lost profits, or lost goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of those damages.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HomeStudyPath from any claim or demand brought by a third party arising out of your use of the app, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing a formal claim, please contact us at support@homestudypath.com so we have a chance to address your concern directly.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app changes or as legal requirements evolve. Material changes will be announced via email and in-app, and we may require you to review and re-accept before continuing. The version of the Terms you accepted is recorded on your account. Non-material changes (typo fixes, link updates, clarifications) may be made without notice.
If you don't agree with an updated version, you can close your account from Settings → Billing. Continuing to use the app after a material change becomes effective means you accept the updated Terms.
Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us about the app and supersede any prior discussions. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the service, in which case your protections under these Terms continue. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control (e.g. outages of upstream infrastructure, natural disasters).
